A graduate of the University of South Caroline (B. A. in Secondary Education) and Winthrop College (M.Ed. in Reading), I have taught English and reading at the middle school, high school, and college levels and journalism at the middle school level. Along with a fellow teacher and friend, I co-authored Super Seven, a set of warm-up lessons for middle school English/Language Arts teachers based on the South Carolina State Standards. In addition to working as a classroom teacher, I worked for the SC Department of Education as a Teacher Specialist On Site (TSOS). Before my retirement, I earned National Board Certification in Early Adolescence/English Language Arts. I enjoy reading, writing, teaching Sunday school, watching USC Gamecocks sports, and spending time with my family.
